Before the holiday break, Jared was kind enough to participate in my portrait project. I had an idea of Jared standing pensively in the foreground with lots of motion of the city happening behind him - a real urban portraiture. So, we went into Midtown Atlanta and I thought captured a few shots I liked. But, once I got them into my image editor, they didn't do much for me. However, Jared had wanted some new professional headshots for his Linkedin profile and in the process of taking a few, I found some great light that was coming through a tree and reflecting out onto the street. I thought it had the chance for a good black and white photograph and I'm glad we took the time to make it - I think it was the best of the shoot.
One of the things I like about this photograph, is the expression on Jared's face. Lately, I've been shooting a lot of serious looking portraits, but liked the warmth of the one above.
